My Mom and Dad are both music
lovers, so I've been around music all my life. When I was very
young, my Dad was a polka king in the North Eastern PA coal region
-- he was known as "Happy Stefan." (Mom was in the band, too.)
Later, Dad played in a Rock & Roll variety band. I grew up listening
to the band as they practiced and I attended gigs. This environment
molded my love for all types of music. I was taught that music is a
gift that never goes away. Regardless of skill level, age, or
anything else in life, you always have music. It is one of the best
things my parents gave me, and today I am doing my best to instill
the same love for music in my own children. Formerly I was in a party band named Toolshed Jack and we performed primarily in the Schuylkill County area. Over that time, I built a great admiration for country music but never had the chance to perform it until I joined STEELCREEK. The greatest thing about being in the STEELCREEK band is that my children will be able to see me perform. |
